The Unstoppable 10 Rupees (Short Story )
Rohan, a lazy and always-broke college student, wakes up late as usual. He quickly grabs his bag and runs out, skipping breakfast. He checks his pocket and finds only one 10-rupee note.
“That’s all that’s left! The whole day’s budget!” he sighs and takes a long, deep breath.
On the way to college, Rohan’s eyes suddenly landed on an old beggar sitting by the roadside, shaking a tin can with a few coins inside. The old man looked weak and hungry. Rohan’s legs stopped for a moment as he looked at the only money he had
“If I give it, I’ll stay hungry… but forget it, let me just give it.”
He hands over the 10 rupees to the beggar and walks away, feeling both proud and worried.
“Karma, please take care of me today!” he mutters.
But what happens next? He never expected it! Karma has also plan for rohan
1. The Chaiwala Surprise
After a long and boring lecture, Rohan feels super hungry. His friend Rahul suggests tea at the roadside chaiwala.
Rohan: “Bro, I don’t have money, you give it.”
Rahul: “You always live for free!”
Rahul pays with a 100-rupee note, and the chaiwala gives back the change.
Rohan takes a sip of his tea, but suddenly freezes. He stares at one of the notes in Rahul’s hand.
It’s the SAME 10-rupee note!
Rohan: “Oh bro, I already gave this in the morning!”
Chaiwala (laughing): “Bro, money just keeps circulating. Enjoy your tea!”
Rohan is shocked but enjoys his free tea.
“Karma heard that, huh?” he smirks.
2. The Magician’s Trick
Later, while roaming the street market, Rohan and Rahul see a street magician performing tricks.
Magician: “Come, come! Watch this magic!”
Curious, they stop to watch. The magician pulls a coin from thin air, then a flower, then suddenly…
He pulls out a 10-rupee note from behind Rohan’s ear!
Magician: “Here you go, kid! Your money back!”
Rohan snatches the note and gasps. It’s the SAME 10-rupee note! The same tiny tear in the corner.
Rohan: “Bro, why is this after me!?”
Rahul: “Looks like you have a connection with the wandering soul of your 10 rupees!”
They both burst out laughing.
Rohan: “Bro, this is just a coincidence, that’s all.”
Rahul gives a mischievous look to Rohan. “Coincidence? Let’s see!”
3. The Auto-Wala Bonus
By evening, Rohan decides to go home. He checks his wallet—zero balance, except that cursed 10 rupees.
“Forget it, I’ll have to give this today,” he thinks.
He takes an auto and, at the destination, hands over the 10 rupees. The auto-wala is busy on a call, takes the note, and mistakenly gives back 20 rupees as change!
Rohan (staring at the extra money): “Bro, this turned into an investment!”
He happily pockets the money.
In the end – Good Karma is Real!
At the end of the day, Rohan started with 10 rupees and ended up with free chai, free entertainment, his own 10 rupees back, and even 20 rupees extra!
“Good karma works in mysterious ways, bro!” he tells Rahul, laughing.
He looks at the unstoppable 10-rupee note and wonders, “Will this come back to me tomorrow too?”
